Traveling from PA Myrtle Beach coming through Winston Salem at 5pm. Wife looked up Jade Garden and it was closed on a Friday night. This place was next door. So glad we found it. Servers were young but friendly. Seated right away. We noticed lots of take out orders. I liked how you can see into the kitchen. Menu is plentiful. Lots of families seated around us. Bathrooms were clean. My Sepos (1st time trying) presentation was excellent and it was full of great flavors. My wife's shrimp quesadilla was excellent. We noticed a lot of people getting very large drinks and asked what they were. Our waitress said it was Mexican hot chocolate. They actually had ran out and the owner went back and found two small cups for my wife and I to sample. It was very creamy and flavorful. I highly recommend this place if you are in the area. Enjoy!!!

El Rancho is one of my absolute favorite authentic mexican eateries in Winston! Their food is always so fresh and full of flavor. My favorite dish is the Pollo Milanesa. Also, the staff is super friendly and willing to help talk through any decisions you're trying to make since there are so many good options. If you're looking for a low-key, comfy, and simple place with food that's rich in flavor- this is definitely your spot!

I came here on a Friday for lunchtime takeout.. I called ahead to order and everything was ready to go when I arrived despite the restaurant being packed with customers. I ordered the Birria Tacos and a large Jamaica to drink and took my meal back to work to enjoy. The birria was perfectly cooked, and the cheese perfectly melted. The consome was chocked with meat and the portion was perfect. The Jamaica was perfectly sweetened and chilled. The only reason I'm taking off a star was because both the birria meat and consome were underseasoned. The salsa helped a lot and it wasn't inedible but definitely noteworthy. The ambiance is typical of a Mexican restaurant. It was clearly well-maintained and clean. Overall a great experience.

This was my first visit and will not be my last. I was craving Mexican food so I decided to give El Rancho Taqueria a try. The staff was so nice and my waitress gave some suggestions on what to order. I started with the Hibiscus agua fresca. It was sweet and tangy. I was very happy I got the large. The waitress recommended the birria tacos. It came with 4 tacos and the yummy dip. the meat was flavorful and tender. The onions, lime, and cilantro added freshness to balance out the tacos. They also give you several salsas. I tried the green ones because they were mild. I saw other dishes come by that looked delicious.

I ordered to-go and it was ready super quickly! The mega cheese burrito was HUGE and so good! And the nachos were also HUGE and were also delish. I would definitely order from here again. My true rating would be more like 4.5, but I'm rounding up for an unexpected, delicious to-go meal! To go is a great option to take food to a local brewery or the nearby East Tiger beer garden

El rancho doesn't skimp on the fresh ingredients that tops tacos! The lengua and chorizo is my favorite! Best tacos in town, super fast and kind customer service. Price is incredible as well. Cute little restaurant with Spanish music playing makes you feel at home.

Returning here to try some more of what this taqueria has to offer. This time I chose a personal favorite, Carnitas! The order was quickly placed, very quickly filled. I had placed the order to go, and when I picked up the take out box to leave, I could not believe the heaviness of it - a two handed carry! When I opened the box, the feel of the amount was confirmed by sight - this was a huge amount of food, the individual pieces of pork were so very large, the combination of meat and beautiful fat were all you can ask from this dish! You don't even look at this dish, much less eat it, to control weight! The most magical part of this was that the taste was as large as the physical quantity - rarely seen, embraced in awe! The "plate" came with beans, rice, guacamole, and pico salad - much to eat, bring in the babies, grab the old ladies - everyone eats! I've tasted very few versions of this classic dish that is better - perhaps Don Zapata, Los Muelles, La Carreta on a great day, La Casa Lopez a few years back & a few more! Of course, this forced me to try other items here!

I was in the area and feeling for some Authentic Mexican food. Based off other Yelp Reviews I decided to try El Rancho and it was really solid. The food was awesome, they have mexican coke which is a huge plus and the prices were amazing. Cool taco spot, I'm not sure if I missed it on the menu or they don't offer it but would have loved if they had chips and guac to start with (I did wind up getting chips and salsa) The plastic bowls and utensils aren't great, I'd prefer real ones but that's such a small thing who cares. The food is what it's all about!
